Wide temperature range memory for military operation
In-vehicle and heavy industrial applications can benefit from the SQR-SD4E wide temperature range SQRAM DDR4 3200 memory from Advantech.
The memory has adopted Micron automotive-grade DRAM IC, which natively supports an operating temperature range of -40 to 125 degrees C. The durable memory can be used in military, in-vehicle, mining and heavy industry applications, advised Advantech.
The SQR-SD4E has been introduced to address the design challenges of today’s high performance computing (HPC) applications which have higher power demands which generate considerable heat, especially for outdoor scenarios, explained Advantech. The SQR-SD4E is designed with original Micron industrial grade DRAM IC and 30 micro inches golden finger PCB. The SQR-SD4E series has undergone extreme long-run burn-in and stress tests to ensure reliability. It also supports SODIMM and is available in 8Gbyre, 16Gbyte and 32Gbyte capacities with a data transfer rate of 3,200Mtransfers per second.
An underfill technique provides structural support between the DRAM chip and the substrate, effectively decreasing the edge stress, explained the company. At the same time, the memory is protected against moisture and other environmental hazards for a stable, durable memory module.
The SQR-SD4E SQRAM is available with additional heatsinks which can improve the durability of the memory module in the most critical environments, claimed Advantech.
The SQRAM is supplied with SQ Manager software which monitors DRAM in real time, providing information such as dynamic memory speed, temperature and an over-heating alert to provide the operational health status of the memory system. SQ Manager can be executed as part of the system for real time temperature management. The software supports cloud remote control and on-premise versions on each device, which is free to download from the Advantech website.
