Wire to board connectors add strength to industrial robots

The DF51K series of wire to board connectors has been released by Hirose Electronics. The 2.0mm pitch, robust lock connectors are intended for applications requiring strength and durability, such as industrial machinery, medical devices, smart meters or industrial robots, explains the company.

DF51K connectors feature a centre lock design that allows the connectors to be placed side-by-side to save space on the board. The mating operation has a clear tactile click to confirm secure engagement and a reliable connection.

The connectors have a strong contact lance strength which increases the contact retention in the housing and prevents the contacts from pulling loose if the cables are wrenched.

The DF51K is polarised through the use of guide keys to prevent incorrect mating.

Single or double row versions are available in a straight or right angle housing with the option of gold or tin plating.

The DF51K series is part of the SignalBee product family. SignalBee consists of compact wire to board and wire to wire connectors that are designed for the requirements of industrial applications.

The connectors have a current rating of 2.0A (max) and voltage rating of AC/DC 250V. They operate over a temperature range of -55 to +105 degrees C.

The connectors are UL/C-UL certified and RoHS-compliant.
