Wirewound resistors from Vishay Intertechnology are AEC-Q200 qualified

For automotive pre-charge and discharge applications, the RHA series of chassis-mount wirewound resistors combine a robust design, with a wide resistance range and tight tolerance for reliability, accuracy and stability for electric vehicles (EVs), said Vishay Dale.

The RHA series resistors mount directly onto a chassis to use the heatsink effect. The high reliability devices feature a welded and moulded construction for environmental protection and have an operating temperature range of -55 to +250  degrees C. The resistors will serve as pre-charge and discharge resistors in EVs, in addition to voltage dividers in brake lights / tail lights and current limiters in dimming circuits for interior lighting.

The resistors offer high power ratings up to 50W in four small package sizes. The resistors’ tight tolerance down to ± one per cent, TCR (temperature co-efficient resistance) as low as 20 parts per million per degree C and wide resistance range from 0.1 to 39.2 kOhm. The RHA series is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.

The RHA005 (7.5W), RHA010 (12.5W), the RHA025 (25W) and RHA050 (50W) resistors are available in sample and production quantities now, with lead times of eight to 12 weeks.

Vishay manufactures discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components for designs in the automotive, industrial, computing, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace and medical markets
