W+P offers five options for board-to-board connectors in 1.27mm pitch
There are five options in the Board-to-Board (B-t-B) range, four connectors and one cable assembly in insulation displacement connector (IDC) technology. The 9017 to 9020 connector series permit a flexible arrangement of the PCBs for example, and the pre-assembled series 998-916 is for a secure connection that also withstands mechanical loads, says the company.
The surface mount technology (SMT) male and female headers of the series 9017 to 9020 offer a diverse range of possible PCB combinations. They offers a vertical and horizontal connection of PCBs and also a mixture of a vertical and horizontal variants is also possible, which establishes a right-angled arrangement. Additional lateral solder clips ensure a secure fastening to the PCB.
There is a total of 10 choices of contacts between 12 and 80 contacts available. The contact material is a copper alloy with the surface options from flash-gold plated up to a 0.75 micron gold coating. The insulators consist of thermoplastic in accordance with UL94 V-0. Safe functionality is guaranteed within a temperature range of -55 to +125 degrees C.
The cable assembly series 998-916, expands the W+P portfolio to include an alternative with IDC connection technology, available finished at both ends. Fourorientations of the mating side are possible. Furthermore, the length of the flexible flat cable can be selected according to the application, whereby the wire cross section is AWG 30. In line with the B-t-B series, the double row IDC socket is also deliverable with 10 different numbers of contacts. A copper alloy with 0.75 micron gold surface is offered as the contact material. The insulator offered is made of thermoplastic according to UL94 V-0 and is suitable for a temperature range from -20 to +105 degrees C.
