50A uni-directional TVS diodes arrays save PCB space
Safeguarding consumer electronics, the latest TVS diode array from Littelfuse, the SP1250-01ETG provides a 50A high surge resistance, with low clamping performance.
It is offered in a compact SOD-882 DFN package (0402 footprint), designed for mounting in small PCB spaces.
The SP1250-01ETG TVS diode array is designed for Vbus, portable battery, and button/switch protection in consumer electronics, medical equipment.
The SP1250-01ETG provides superior protection via lower clamping voltage and low leakage current, all in a PCB space-saving footprint, compared to competing devices, says Littelfuse.
Typical applications for the SP1250-01ETG include desktop PCs, notebooks and servers, as well as computer peripherals in the consumer electronics market. It is also suitable for medical equipment, point of sale (POS) terminals, test equipment and instrumentation and portable batteries.
The SP1250 discrete unidirectional TVS diode array is fabricated in a proprietary silicon avalanche technology. The diode arrays provide high electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for consumer electronic equipment. The SP1250 safely absorbs repetitive ESD strikes of ±30kV (contact and air discharge as defined in IEC 61000-4-2) without any performance degradation, reports Littelfuse. Each device can dissipate up to 50A 8/20 microseconds surge event and has a low clamping performance (8.7V typical at 50A).
The SP1250 can be incorporated into consumer electronics designs for ESD suppression and surge protection for the product’s power lines, even in harsh environments, said Jia Zhu, product manager, TVS Diode Arrays (SPA Diodes). This will result in both high reliability and longer operating life for end users, he added.
The reliable device is AEC-Q101-qualified.
The SP1250-01ETG series is provided in tape and reel format. Sample requests can be placed through authorised Littelfuse distributors worldwide.
