Fiber FMC+ module has two speed grades

Equipped with dual board mount optical assemblies, each providing 24 channel full-duplex transceivers capable of up to 28.1Gbits per second per channel, the FMC259 FPGA mezzanine module from VadaTech is capable of 1344Gbits per second (bi-directional).

The FPGA mezzanine module per VITA 57.4 (FMC+) specification provides clock data recovery and front-panel fibre I/O via multiple fibre push on (MPO) connectors or MTP connectors. The module’s transceivers are available in 10.6Gbit per second and 28.1Gbit per second per channel grades, both with multi-rate capability. The 10.6Gbit per second option can drive 100m over OM3 multimode (MM) fibre and the 28.1Gbit per second option can drive 100m over OM4 MM fibre.

The FMC259 also has an on board low jitter clock generator with two independent, fractional PLL. The clocking allows synchronisation to an external clock input or on- board. Six clocks are routed to the Gbit transceivers on the FMC+ pin-outs and two are routed to CLK0 and CLK1 for a total of eight clock outputs. Additionally, the module has LEDs in green or yellow to allow for LNK/ACT, debugging or as defined by the user.
