Raltron introduces 10 MHz OCXO for precision RF, microwave, and timing systems
Raltron has announced the OX6580MK‑HZ‑0.5‑10.000‑12, a 10 MHz oven‑controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) that provides designers a stable, low‑noise and fast warm‑up reference for today’s demanding RF, microwave, and test‑and‑measurement equipment.
Manufactured in Raltron’s Miami facility, the OX6580MK‑HZ‑0.5‑10.000‑12 maintains a stable frequency over temperature, providing ±5 ppb frequency stability from −20 °C to +70 °C. This enables equipment to stay on‑channel across changing environmental conditions, while design engineers can rely on tight initial accuracy and carefully controlled long‑term drift, to reduce recalibration needs and help maintain consistent performance over the life of the product.
The OX6580MK‑HZ‑0.5‑10.000‑12 is engineered for very low phase noise close to the carrier, making it well suited as the master 10 MHz reference for PLL‑ and DDS‑based synthesisers, local oscillators (LO) chains, and precision measurement instruments.
The OX6580MK‑HZ‑0.5‑10.000‑12 is ideal for RF, Infrastructure, and Test Equipment including:
Wireless infrastructure such as 4G/5G base stations and microwave backhaul, where tight stability and low noise help improve data throughput and signal quality.
RF and microwave synthesisers used in communication, radar, and satellite systems, which need a clean 10 MHz “heartbeat” to generate low‑noise local oscillators.
Timing modules and frequency standards, including disciplined oscillators and timing cards that must hold accuracy over long periods and during network or GNSS outages.
Test and measurement instruments like spectrum analysers, signal generators, and frequency counters, which depend on a precise 10 MHz time base for accurate readings and low residual phase noise.
