Ampleon adds Si LDMOS RF power transistors with 80 per cent efficiency
There are two additions to the Ampleon 50V Si LDMOS, high efficiency RF power transistors. The BLF978P and the BLF974P are designed for use in high-power RF power amplifiers. They have high gain characteristics.
Both power transistors offer an operating efficiency of up to 80 per cent at 225MHz under Class AB operation. The 1,200W BLF978P and the 500W BLP974P typically offer a power gain of 25dB at a frequency range of between 225 to 700MHz. This makes them suitable for kW output RF systems as well as for industrial and scientific applications where thermal design can dictate system reliability and deliver energy-efficient, cost-saving RF performance.
