Animate Preview tool visualises analogue circuit designs
Real-time layout previews of analogue circuits can be presented to analogue and mixed-signal designers, using the Animate Preview tool by Pulsic.
The tool, it gives engineers quick, easy and accurate physical information about the analogue circuit while designers develop the schematic. Animate Preview delivers detailed visualisations and accurate area estimations of the circuit to help designers quickly spot problems.
It can also accelerate design iterations by giving instant feedback on design decisions. Animate Preview eliminates the wait for layout teams, often working on multiple competing projects, to find the time to create an initial layout, says Pulsic.
Animate Preview works while the designer is editing the circuit schematic, automatically updating with those changes. Physical previews are generated when a schematic is loaded and each time the schematic is updated. Animate Preview automatically recognises common analogue circuit topologies, e.g. current mirrors and differential pair, then intelligently places devices to achieve matching symmetry and optimal flow of the critical paths in the circuit. Animate Preview obeys DRC and process rules to provide early and accurate physical previews of a design.
Physical information that would normally take hours or days to generate is automatically available to circuit engineers in seconds, says Pulsic. The Animate Preview window is embedded in the existing schematic editor and displays results and updated previews as the engineer works, and this is done in real time. There is a GUI available for detailed control of placement constraints and topologies if required.
The introduction marks a radical departure from the traditional electronic design automation (EDA) business and licensing models, by releasing Animate Preview as a freemium product. It is available now for complimentary download and installation. Online help desk and live chat support services are also available with the Animate Preview download.
