BittWare and Achronix introduce enterprise-class PCIe accelerator
A strategic collaboration between BittWare and Achronix has resulted in the development of the VectorPath S7t-VG6 PCIe accelerator, a PCIe card integrating the Achronix 7nm Speedster7t FPGA. It offers GDDR6 memories that offer high bandwidth memory (HBM) -class bandwidth, high-performance machine learning processors and a 2D network-on-chip for high bandwidth and energy-efficient data movement.
Commenting on the S7t-VG6 PCIe accelerator, Jeff Milrod, president of BittWare, said: “We will now be able to offer leading memory bandwidths, as well as high-speed storage, network and host interfaces while achieving new levels of price/performance and energy efficiency. I am confident that the innovations in the Speedster7t combined with BittWare’s extensive experience and depth of accelerator card IP will provide compelling platforms for data centre, cloud infrastructure and enterprise solutions.”
Robert Blake, CEO, Achronix, added: “In order to provide our customers with the ability to rapidly evaluate [the Achronix Speedster7t FPGA family] and go into volume production with the Speedster7t devices at card and server-level, we needed a partner with the deep design expertise and logistical scale needed to supply our growing global customer base.”
The BittWare VectorPath accelerator card is designed for high-performance and high-bandwidth data applications and features one 400GbE and two 100GbE interfaces, eight banks of GDDR6 memory with 4Tbits per second aggregate bandwidth, 20Tbits per second 2D network-on-chip, one bank of DDR4 running at 2666MHz with error code correction (ECC), PCIe compliance and certification and
692k six-input LUTs.
The VectorPath S7t-VG6 PCIe accelerator features a choice of thermal cooling options (passive, active or liquid), a comprehensive board management controller and support for Linux and Windows operating systems. A developer toolkit includes an application programme interface (API), PCIe drivers, application example designs and diagnostic self-test. There is also the option to purchase the S7t pre-integrated as a Dell or HPE server from BittWare’s TeraBox range.
The first S7t-VG6 shipments are scheduled to begin early Q2 2020.
