COM Express modules combine graphics with energy efficiency

Application specific industrial embedded computing platforms available from iBase now include the COM Express Type 10 (ET875) and Type 6 (ET870) modules based on the Intel Atom processor E3900 series, Intel Pentium processor N4200 and Intel Celeron processor N3350.

Designed for IoT embedded applications including gaming, automatic teller machines/point of sale (ATM/PoS), medical imaging and industrial control, the scalable mini modules combine powerful graphics performance and energy-efficient computing power, claims iBase.

The ET875 and ET870 have a wide-temperature operating range from -40 to +85 degrees C and long-term availability. They support two serial ports, four high-speed PCI-e Gen2 lanes and TPM 2.0 for data encryption management.

The ET875 module measures 84 x 55mm and is equipped with the Intel Gen 9-LP SoC-integrated HD graphics with 18 execution units. It supports two independent displays, one data display (DD) and one low voltage digital signalling (LVDS) or one eDP and eMMC storage option (up to 32Gbyte).

Interfaces comprise two USB 3.0/3.1, eight USB 2.0, and two SATA III (via an IP417 carrier board).

The compact ET870 measures 95 x 95mm and has three USB 3.0, four USB 2.0 and two SATA III (via IP419 carrier board). It features the Intel Gen 9 SoC-integrated HD graphics, and two display interfaces which can be two DDI and one 24-bit dual-channel LVDS or eDP.

iBase Technology was established in 2000 and specialises in the design and manufacturing of application specific embedded industrial PC products. The company carries out manufacturing and quality control at its production sites in Taiwan that are certified to meet ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 standards. iBase’s current standard product range comprises x86 and RISC-based industrial motherboards, embedded systems, industrial panel PCs, digital signage players and network appliances for automation, digital signage, gaming, transportation, smart building, medical, retail and networking markets.
