Custom cable assemblies can be created by W+P Products
Customising cable assemblies requires a specialist with a spectrum of technologies, asserts W+P Products. The company provides customised projects as well as standard cable assemblies.
The customised assemblies use UL-certified stranded wires and cables, flex flat cables and flat cables. The cable types can be individually assembled with a choice of connection technologies, including IDC, crimp or solder terminations. A combination of different connector families on one cable is also possible, according to the demands of the specification.
The series 998-916 has been introduced to the company’s portfolio and is available pre-assembled at both ends. It is an alternative with IDC connection technology in 1.27mm pitch. Four different orientations of the mating side are possible, reports W+P and the length of the flexible flat cable can be selected according to the needs of the application, at a wire cross section of AWG 30.
A double row IDC socket is also available with a choice of contacts. The insulators consist of thermoplastic in accordance with UL94 V-0 and safe functionality is guaranteed within a range of -20 to +105 degrees C.
W+P also supplies PCB connections, together with interfaces for internal and external devices, which must withstand mechanical loads. These can be used in embedded computing, automation engineering and industrial applications.
