Dual-circuit tactile switch is compact for automotive, industrial and medical use
Claimed to be the first SMT tactile switch with an IP67 rating in a 6.2 x 6.2mm package to offer SPDT functionality, the KSC-DCT has been added to the KSC range by C&K.
The KSC-DCT tact switches offer SPDT, NC-NO dual-circuit functionality that provides two outputs from a single input. The PCB package is just 2.9mm high. The silicone 70SH actuator included in the package extends the height to 5.2 mm above the PCB surface for easy operation and easier integration through pre/post travel, says C&K.
Rated for 300,000 operations, the switches require an operating force of 4.75N and provide a nominal travel distance of 0.85mm. The KSC-DCT incorporate C&K Switches’ haptics to provide feedback when pressed.
The switches are IP67 sealed and operate over the -40 to _85 degrees C temperature range, making them suitable for use in harsh environments, especially those in automotive, industrial and medical applications.
According to the company the KSC-DCT switches are the smallest and lowest-cost alternative to snap switches currently available.
The lead-free reflow-compatible KSC-DCT switches are supplied in reels of 1,000 pieces for easy automated pick-and-place processing. For design engineers, 3D models in a variety of file formats are available from the C&K website.
