Erni adds signal connectors to power supply group

Signal connectors with pin counts of 26, 32 and 44 pins have been added to the MicroSpeed connector range by Erni. The company has also added unshielded connectors to its power supply portfolio.

Erni said that these additions allow it to respond even more precisely to customers’ specific requirements and, through greater diversity, provide even greater development flexibility.

In addition to a compact size, the MicroSpeed series is characterised by high vibration resistance, good processability and robustness. With the high transmission rate of up to 25Gbits per second the high signal integrity, reliable and robust MicroSpeed connectors can be used to save space in data and telecommunications as well as medical technology and industrial automation applications. Operating temperature range is -55 to +125 degrees C.

The unshielded power connectors have up to 44 contacts (one or two rows) and allow a cost-efficient, compact power supply up to 15A. They also have high current carrying capacity and higher operating voltages thanks to variable contact spacing and selective assembly, said Erni, to replace larger connectors.

Both the new MicroSpeed and power connectors meet the requirements of modern automated component insertion machines. Surface mount co-planarity is 100 per cent guaranteed and specified at less than 0.10mm for all contacts.

MicroSpeed signal connectors feature double-sided female contacts with a wide, uniformly smooth surface and an effective wipe length of 1.5mm. A large capture range of 0.85mm (blind mate version) with a 1.0mm pitch ensures safe and reliable mating with high contact integrity.

The robust design of the connectors, with polarised mating face, blind mate versions, reverse polarity protection and enlarged guides to accommodate the mating contact, can be integrated in compact IoT, industrial IoT (IIoT) and hard-to-reach automation devices.

Erni develops, manufactures and sells a wide variety of electronic connectivity products for a selection of applications, particularly for the automotive and industrial automation sectors.

The company spans over 40 countries and has manufacturing facilities in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. Its headquarters are in Switzerland.
