Fire protection displays have touch input capability

Available exclusively from Display Technology, Blo-Line’s monitors are now equipped with touch capability.

To date, explains Display Technology, touch has not been possible with fire-protected monitors because the fire protection glass structure prevents the use of a PCAP touch sensor.

Through close co-operation with glass provider partners, sister company Distec has been able to develop a monitor that PCAP touch and fire protection glass together.

The Blo-Line monitors can be used for information displays in areas with strict fire protection regulations such as hospitals, universities, schools, at airports and in public buildings. Having a touch capability in fire-certified monitors now allows interaction with visitors and passers-by in these sensitive areas. The Blo-Line touch monitors are available as pure monitors or as a standalone system with integrated PC.

Distec claims it is the first supplier to offer an independent fire protection monitor with PCAP touch capability in sizes from 24 to 54.6 inches.

The BLO-Line with integrated capacitive touch was subjected to a fire test and certified with fire protection class A1. The company guarantees customers the maximum level of safety.

The initial screen sizes will be extended, says Display Technology.

In September 2018, Display Technology acquired Display Solutions which was established in 1996. Display Technology is the UK subsidiary of Fortec Elektronik AG.

Display Technology delivers the technical innovations in displays, touchscreens and embedded computing, supported at every stage of the process, from initial consultation through to sample design, volume manufacturing and immediate-response after-sales service.
