Half-size board has workstation and desktop processor options

The ROBO-6912VG2AR is a PICMG 1.3 half-size single board computer (SBC) features both workstation and desktop processors of the 8th/9th Generation Intel Core i3,i5, i7, Pentium or Celeron processor (formerly Coffee Lake-S). There is also the Intel Q370 chipset and Intel Xeon E-2100/2200 family processor with C246 chipset up to eight cores 3.4GHz (35-65W) in an LGA 1151 socket.

The board’s performance and processing efficiency make it suitable for embedded systems that require high computing power and rich I/O for flexible expansion capabilities in a small physical presence.

The ROBO-6912VG2AR can therefore suit factory automation, industrial control systems, medical or healthcare imaging systems, automated test equipment, digital signage, digital security surveillance, broadcasting systems, transportation and communication testing equipment.

The board delivers up to 64Gbyte dual-channel ECC/non-ECC DDR4 2666MHz via two SO-DIMM sockets for double memory capacity and higher bandwidth. It supports PCI Express Gen 3 (up to 8.0Gtransfers per second) with a choice of one PCIe x 16, two PCIe x 8, or one PCIe x 8 and two PCIe x 4. In addition, it is possible to add one PCIe x 4 or four PCIe x 1 for expansion.

I/O includes one RS-232 / 422 / 485, two USB 3.1 Gen 2, four USB 3.0, dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports with wake-on-LAN, two SATA 3.0 ports and one mSATA socket. Together with the support of RAID 0, 1, 5 and Intel Optane memory, there is a wide variety of expansion capabilities. The ATX power input is particularly suitable for a variety of industrial computer system power sources. On-board TPM 2.0 makes the application more secure, adds Portwell.

With an integrated Intel Gen 9.5 graphic media accelerator, the ROBO-6912VG2AR supports DirectX 12, Open GL 3.1, OCL 1.1 and MPEG-2 to support 3D multimedia performance via its triple independent display interface, dual Mini DP ports (4K resolution) and DVI-D (resolution up to 1920×1600).

The use of system host board architecture eases field service and maintenance and reduces total downtime, as well as provides energy efficiency, claims Portwell.

The ROBO-6912VG2AR is easily updateable and can be installed with an older generation SBC and with the very latest CPUs, explains Portwell.

Customers also benefit from the long-life cycle support of 10+ years, adds the company.
