High-performance alternative to Euro-style terminal blocks
From TE Connectivity (TE) comes the dynamic product series, which is marketed as a high-performance alternative to Euro-style terminal blocks.
The new series connector solutions range from signal level circuitry to power circuit connectivity in a ruggedised, industrialised package.
The product range has been designed for use in control system applications to suit high density, signal and power applications. Equipped with a smart combination of a robust housing structure and high-quality crimp contact system, these wire-to-board, wire-to-panel and wire-to-wire connectors have diverse housings that can meet harsh requirements in industrial applications.
The housing features of the Dynamic series are designed to withstand harsh environments. The products provide a strong locking mechanism, which prevents unmating of the connector pair under stress. At the same time, retention legs withstand axial pullout forces applied to the harness.
The standard plating for Dynamic series is gold-based versus tin-based plating commonly found in Euro-style terminal blocks. The company says the premium plating is more effective than tin-plated terminal contact at preventing oxidation of the conductive layer under micro movements and improves its performance under contact pressure by increasing the contact area and decreasing the resistance.
