Keysight offers wide band millimeter-wave technology for automotive radar systems
The Keysight E8740A automotive radar signal analysis and generation solution enables radar-based, advanced driver assistance systems to detect and mitigate risks of collisions.
Automotive radar applications are part of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for manned and autonomous vehicles. There is growing demand, especially in higher frequencies, such as 79GHz applications, points out Keysight.
Radar technology in higher-frequencies is critical to significantly improving detection and ranging to different levels, and will be used for mission-critical decisions in autonomous driving. The accurate, robust operation of a radar system in an automotive application relies on the quality and integrity of the radar design. The Keysight E8740A automotive radar signal analysis and generation solution uses the company’s mmWave technology providing signal analysis from 3.0Hz to 110GHz in a continuous sweep.
It performs analysis and generation of automotive radar signals across full frequency ranges for 24, 77 and 79GHz radar, and provides scalable analysis bandwidth from 2.5 to 5.0GHz, depending on test requirements.
The scalable test platform covers present and future frequencies and bandwidths with intuitive tools enabling engineers to rapidly identify, isolate or correct crucial design errors with confidence.
Measurements offer greater sensitivity and dynamic range to ensure better signal noise ration (SNR), with displayed average noise levels (DANL) of -150dBm up to110GHz.
The E8740A automotive radar signal analysis and general solution uses Keysight’s SystemVue Automotive Radar Library (W1908) to generate frequency-modulated continuous waveforms (FMCW) and scenarios.
Keysight Technologies provides solutions to optimise networks and bring electronic products to market faster and at a lower cost with offerings from design simulation, to prototype validation, to manufacturing test, to optimisation in networks and cloud environments.
