Lemo introduces 4K UHD connector to push-pull range
The 12G-SDI 4K ultra high definition (UHD) transmission push-pull connector has been added to the S series by Lemo. The 1S.275 series for 12G-SDI (serial digital interface) 4K UHD transmission is a robust push-pull connectors, compliant with the SMPTE ST 2082-1 standard for signal/data transmission.
The connector enables a transmission rate of 12Gbits per second meeting the 12G-SDI transmission standard and provides eight times the bandwidth of a standard HD-SDI in a single link, said Lemo. The chocolate bar shape is also claimed to make the connector easier to grip and handle with ease.
The connector has been developed in response to the demands for high transmission rates, lighter structure, low latency in live events in the audio-video broadcasting market segments as well as for medical imaging platforms such as endoscopy and laparoscopy.
The design of this connector ensures seamless transmission with high precision, reliability, low return loss, said Lemo, making it a viable alternative to using dual 6G or Quad 3G links. Currently, many 4K professional cameras use Quad link BNC connectors to transmit 12G signals for UHD displays. The 12G-SDI 4K ultra high definition (UHD) transmission push-pull connector can transmit 12G-SDI using a compact single link connection for UHD displays, enabling higher panel density and reducing the number of cables and connectors.
