Open hardware development board adapts to ESP32-S2 applications
A user-friendly, open-hardware development board for the Espressif ESP32-S2 wi-fi microcontroller has been launched by Morpheans and backed by Crowd Supply, the product development platform for hardware creators, early adopters and backers.
The MorphESP 240 development board takes minimalist design and combines it with possibilities for scaling, says Morpheans. It integrates a 240MHz single core microcontroller, built-in battery and several general purpose I/Os in a compact package.
The MorphESP 240 development board is compatible with both Arduino and CircuitPython, making it suitable for a range of ESP32-S2 applications. The open hardware MorphESP 240 board includes schematics, DTX, STL and Solidworks files and a KiCAD project source, as well as a breadboard-friendly development shield, allowing users to quickly and easily upgrade the functionality of the device under development. The MorphESP 240 board is intuitive and easy to use, claims Morpheans. It features an on-board, SPI-driven ST7789 display, in addition to a multi-colour WS2812B RGB LED. The device has a USB charging module for a JST-connected battery and a 3.3 to 5.0V voltage regulator enables users to add extra modules.
