Programmable DC power supplies are available in full or half rack sizes

Programmable DC power supplies in the the G1kW and GH1kW series by TDK-Lambda are 1U high and available in full and half rack options.

The G1kW and GH1kW series of DC power supplies extend the company’s Genesys+ series, offering up to 1,000W output power. The Genesys+ series is suitable for benchtop or rack-mount equipment in OEM, industrial and laboratory applications.

There are 10 models available rated at 0V to 10V, 20V, 30V, 40V, 60V, 80V, 100V, 150V, 300V and 600V, with output currents of 0 to 1.7A to 0 to 100A. All models transition seamlessly between constant voltage and constant current operation and also have constant power limit mode, says TDK-Lambda. Multiple power supplies can be connected in parallel with a patented master/slave system that provides dynamic load response and ripple and noise characteristics comparable with that of a single power supply. The input voltage range is 85 to 265Vac for use worldwide.

The half rack GH1kW measures 214mm wide and the full rack G1kW measures 483mm. The GH/RM option kit allows two GH units to be mounted side by side in a standard 19-inch / 1U rack. The 1kW Genesys+ units are easy to move and install, says TDK-Lambda, weighing less than 3.5kg (half-rack) and 5kg (full-rack). Where user access is not required or needs to be restricted, a blank front panel option (with no metering or control functions) is available. Snap-on dust filters can also be added to restrict airborne contamination.

Programming is consistent across the 1kW to 15kW Genesys+ series by either front panel controls, remotely via LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 and RS232/485 communications, or by using the isolated analogue control and monitoring (0 to 5V, 0 to 10V), which are provided as standard. Optional interfaces include a choice of GPIB (IEEE488.2) and the Anybus CompactCom interface platform for EtherCAT, Modbus-TCP (and other interface options as they are released, says the company). Software drivers, a waveform creator and a virtual front panel graphical user interface (GUI) are provided in the software package. Safety features are standard in all Genesys+ power supplies, providing safe/auto restart, last setting memory and built-in protection.

The series is covered by a five year warranty and is certified to IEC/EN/UL 61010-1 with CE marking to the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives. The Genesys+ series also complies to IEC/EN 61203-3 for conducted and radiated EMI and EMC immunity.
