Server board with 3rd generation Intel Xeon expands for AI applications
Capable of powering industrial servers to edge AI applications, the ARES-WHI0 is a server board based on the 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (formerly Ice Lake-SP).
Available from Aaeon, the ARES-WHI0 is designed to combine industrial reliability and performance with AI capability on a standardised platform. Built on the ATX standard form factor, the Intel Xeon scalable processor supports data integrity and security technologies. It also brings high processing speeds and Intel Deep Learning Boost technology, allowing for greater acceleration and more efficient processing for AI server applications, said Aaeon.
The ARES-WHI0 server board is equipped with three PCIe Gen 4 (x16) slots and one PCIe 3.0 (x8) slot, allowing the board to power up to four GPUs to power performance demanding applications from edge AI servers to AI-based visual inspection. There are also three PCIe 3.0 (x4) slots for frame grabbers, AI accelerators, or for functional add-ons.
For storage, the ARES-WHI0 server board has eight SATA III (6.0 Gbit per second) ports, with RAID support, as well as NVMe. The board also features support for DDR4 2666MHz R-DIMM for storage speeds in data server applications.
