SKY16603-632LF dual PIN diode limiter saves PCB space
The SKY16603-632LF is a fully integrated, dual PIN diode, high-linearity limiter module available from Skyworks in a surface mount, dual flat no lead (DFN) package. It is designed for use as a passive receiver protector in wireless or other RF systems for frequencies up to 6GHz. It is defined, says Skyworks by a low limiting threshold, low-insertion loss, excellent IIP3, and low IM distortion.
The module comprises dual PIN limiter diodes and two DC blocking caps at the RF ports. The two-lead DFN package design reduces PCB area required to reduce the design size of devices used in 5G massive MIMO infrastructure, receivers or test instrumentation, for example. The module can operate over the -40 to +105 degrees C temperature range.
The SKY16603-632LF is optimised for 0.6 to 6.0GHz applications and has a low limiting threshold of +8dBm typical. Typical insertion loss is 0.3dB (pin = 0dBm) and typical return loss is 22dBm with a typical threshold level of 8dBm. Maximum saturated power is 3.1W and typical flat leakage power is 9dBm (Pin=+15dBm).
The DFN package measures 2.3 x 2.3mm and is Pb-free and certified to MSL1, 260 degrees C per JEDEC J-STD-020.
