Two board-mount AC/DC converters are high-spec yet cost-effective, says Recom
Two board-mount AC/DC converters released by Recom are designed to be cost-effective and high specification. The 2W RAC02E-K/277 and 3W RAC03E-K/277 devices have nominal inputs of 100 to 277V AC for use in a wide variety of applications worldwide.
Regulated outputs include 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15 and 24V with operation without derating up to 80 degrees C (RAC02E-K/277) or 75 degrees C (RAC03E-K/277). Isolation is 4kV AC with safety certification to industrial, domestic, household (RAC03E-K/277) and information technology equipment (ITE) standards. EMC compliance for both ranges is to EN55032 Class B with a wide margin.
The parts meet ErP requirements with maximum 75mW no-load power consumption. Recom adds that the light load efficiency means that “significant” standby mode power can be delivered without exceeding 0.5W input.
The RAC02E-K/277 has a footprint of 33.7 x 22.2mm and the RAC03E-K/277 measures 37 x 24mm. Both have a low profile of just 15.4mm. Terminations are through-hole and pin-out is industry-standard.
Target applications are automation control, industry 4.0, IoT and home automation.
“These compact AC/DCs are very versatile with their wide AC input and temperature ranges” comments Michael Schrutka, AC/DC Productmanager of RECOM. “Their comprehensive safety certifications and low cost also make them ideal for applications ranging from automation control, industry 4.0 and IoT, to home automation”.
Recom Power manufactures a range of standard and customised DC/DC and AC/DC converters in every power class from sub-1W to tens of kW. The company also offers switching regulators and LED drivers in a selection of formats.
The company headquarters are located in Gmunden, Austria, and include a logistics research and development centre and laboratory wing. There is also support from a worldwide distribution network.
