Vishay adds seven case sizes to double-layer energy storage capacitor range
Seven smaller cases have been added to the ENYCAP electrical double-layer energy storage capacitors by Vishay Intertechnology. The new sizes range 10 x 20mm to 12.5 x 40mm and capacitances range from 5.0 to 22F.
The ENYCAP electrical double-layer energy storage capacitors are for energy harvesting and power back up applications. The standard 220 EDLC, ruggedised 225 EDLC-R, high voltage 230 EDLC-HV, and ruggedised, high voltage 235 EDLC-HVR series ENYCAP capacitors increase power density and save space in industrial, renewable energy, and automotive applications. They are suitable for use in smart meters, handheld electronics, robotics, energy harvesting devices, E-latch door systems and emergency lighting.
The capacitors operate in standard and harsh, high humidity environments, offering useful life up to 2,000 hours at +85 degrees C for maintenance-free operation, says Vishay.
Ruggedised devices meet the highest class of moisture resistance, the biased 85 degrees C / 85 per cent RH 1500-hour test and high voltage capacitors offer rated voltages up to 3.0V. The RoHS-compliant, AEC-Q200 qualified devices feature rapid charge and discharge performance; they are available in through-hole versions.
Samples and production quantities of the ENYCAP capacitors in the smaller case sizes are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger quantities.
