Vox Power introduces compact medical power supply
A compact 300W single output power supply, introduced by Vox Power, is qualified for medical systems. It measures 4.0 x 2.0 x 1.61 inches (100 x 50 x 41mm approximately).
The VCCS300M has conduction cooling as standard. The single output power supply is designed specifically for medical systems. Vox Power says it has combined the latest components and manufacturing techniques to exactly meet the needs of today’s demanding customer. The VCCS300M has an efficiency of 95 per cent and is reliable, rated at 1.1 FPMH. The power supply will satisfy many applications right across the medical sector, says Vox Power, including ventilators, respirators, endoscopes, lab equipment, dental systems and all types of mobile applications.
The VCCS300M has power densities exceeding 23W/in³ and weighs just 310g. The VCCS300M delivers 300W of silent, fanless power. Vox Power has also designed these units to be cooled by convection or forced air, according to the environment in which it is used.
Power supplies of 300, 600, 900W and beyond can be achieved by using the on-board droop current share function, which allows end users to scale up or down depending on their power requirements, says Vox Power.
Input voltage range is 85 to 264V AC (0.99 power factor) and output voltages are set initially at 12, 24 and 48V DC with inbetween voltages up to 58V DC available on request. Figures for load and line regulation as well as ripple and noise are excellent while no load power consumption is below 1W, reports Vox Power.
The VCCS300M power supplies are BF-rated, feature Class I and II isolation and meet all appropriate medical equipment standards including IEC/UL60601-1 Edition 3.1. and IEC/UL60601-1-2 Edition 4 (EMC).
Key features also include low leakage and touch current levels and protection against over voltage and over temperature, both with auto restart. Over-current and short circuit protection are also standard.
The VCCS300M power supply is available from a distribution network and is backed with a five year warranty.
