Wireless kits remove certification obstacles
Two wireless kits for Wi-Fi 5 or Bluetooth 5.0 and LTE Cat 16 have been introduced by Advantech. The EWM-W192 K1 and K2 and EWM-C186K1 (EWM-W/C) wireless kits enable Wi-Fi 5/Bluetooth 5.0 and LTE CAT16 respectively. EWM-W192 K1 and K2 are compatible with standard M.2 2230 A-E key form factor connectors. The EWM-C186 K1 kits connects to M.2 3042 key-B for wireless access. Both EWM-W/C models feature FCC and CE-RED-certified wireless antennae and cables. They are designed for system developers implementing wireless solutions in industrial, retail, and medical applications.
The kits were introduced to help with the choice of wireless protocol for greater connectivity between machines. It can be a challenge for engineers to find compatible antennae, cables, and connections and can extend the time to market. Advantech’s EWM-W/C kits address these issues by featuring multiple di-pole antennas and cables. The EWM-W192 K1 and K2 feature two dipole antennae and MHF4 RF connector cables. The EWM-C186K1 has four di-pole antennae and MFH4 connector cables. The kits are designed to be adaptable for easy planning and installation as well as to reduce time to market.
To avoid bottlenecks caused by RF testing, Advantech partnered with Intel’s IoT business unit to certify its EWM-W/C wireless kits. The EWM-W/C wireless kits satisfy international safety standards for human exposure to electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic signals, and are CE RED, FCC, and IC-certified, making them suitable for EU, US and Canadian customers.
Advantech’s wireless team used product ecosystems to test EWM-W/C compatibility before launch to improve market adaptability. EWM-W/C kits have proven to be compatible with numerous embedded computers including EPC-T4286 and EPC-C301.
The EWM-W192 K1 and K2 and EWM-C186K1 can be deployed in kiosk data streaming, factory automation and machine vision applications.
