Renesas partners with Microsoft Azure RTOS for secure IoT development
To simplify the device-to-cloud experience for IoT developers, Renesas Electronics will partner with Microsoft Azure.
The collaboration will help deliver a complete chip-to-cloud IoT solution based on Renesas’ intelligent and secure microcontrollers and microprocessors and Microsoft Azure IoT building blocks. The latter includes Azure RTOS, Azure IoT device software development kit for C, IoT Plug and Play, IoT Central and IoT Hub.
Azure RTOS (real time operating system), formerly ThreadX RTOS, is currently integrated with the Renesas Synergy Software Package. This collaboration expands Azure RTOS to Renesas RA and RX microcontrollers and RZ/A microprocessors, starting with out-of-the-box integration into the new Renesas RA Flexible Software Package.
Sailesh Chittipeddi, executive vice president, general manager of Renesas’ IoT and Infrastructure Business Unit, said: “This collaboration will enable customers to bring their innovative connected solutions to market quicker with proven, trusted, and secure IoT building blocks.”
